1. The cooling system should be checked on the cold engine therefore it is better to carry out the procedures described below either before a trip, or after a trip, not less than three hours later after an engine stop. |
2. Carefully turn off a stopper of a radiator and carefully wipe rags from the inside. Wipe a radiator mouth, existence on a mouth of traces of corrosion or oil indicates changes of cooling liquid the need (presence of oil testifies to violation of tightness of laying of a head of cylinders). Liquid in a broad tank and a radiator has to be rather pure and transparent. If liquid is painted by a rust, or has an oily film, merge liquid, wash out system and fill in the fresh cooling mix in the necessary proportion. |
3. Carefully check hoses of a radiator and a heater on all their length. At detection of swellings, cracks or mechanical damages replace hoses. Cracks on a hose are better visible at its bending. Pay special attention to collars which hoses to cooling system details fix.
|
4. Check existence of traces of dribble on all details of the cooling system (including hoses, demountable connections, etc.). Traces of a leak of liquid are usually shown in the form of a white raid or a rust. At detection of such traces on details of system replace a detail or laying. Replace all shplintovy (wire) collars with collars with a screw inhaling. |
5. Clear forward part of a radiator of insects, the leaves, etc. which took root into a lattice. Be careful not to damage a radiator tube. |
