Check and replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the generator.
2. Turn off nuts of a back cover.
3. Turn off a generator conclusion nut.
4. Remove the insulating plug of a conclusion and a back cover.
5. Unscrew screws of the regulator of tension and the brush holder (are specified by shooters).
6. Remove the brush holder.
7. Remove tension regulator.
8. Further dismantling is necessary only for replacement of brushes.
9. Measure length of the acting part of brushes.
10. If length of a brush is less maximum permissible, assembled with brushes replace the brush holder. On some cars replacement only of brushes by their perepaivaniye is provided.
11. Be convinced that brushes freely move in the brush holder.
12. Remove the rectifier (shooters specified fastening screws).
13. Remove 4 buffers and a mud-reflector.
14. Designate the provision of forward and back covers.
15. Turn off a nut and remove a pulley.
16. Turn off 4 nuts and disconnect the case of the back bearing.
17. Remove a persistent washer and get a rotor.

Check and assembly

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Check resistance between contact rings which 2–4 Ohms have to be.
2. Check a chain between shaft of a rotor and contact rings. The ohmmeter has to show infinite resistance.
3. The rotor is faulty if results of both checks unsatisfactory, or in case of the increased wear of rings.
4. Check resistance between stator winding conclusions.
5. If resistance is great, or the ohmmeter shows break, the stator is faulty.
6. Check short circuit of windings of the stator for the case (core).
7. Apply the positive probe of an ohmmeter to a conclusion, and negative – to weight. The device has to show the closed chain (1 – a positive probe, 2 – a negative probe).
8. At change of polarity of connection of an ohmmeter the gap has to nablyuchatsya (1 – a positive probe, 2 – a negative probe).
9. Check diodes of a positive branch of the rectifier (1 – a positive conclusion, 2 – conclusions of diodes).
10. Check diodes of a negative branch of the rectifier (1 – a negative conclusion, 2 – conclusions of diodes).
11. Assembly is carried out upside-down.
12. At installation of the brush holder wring out brushes.
