5. From sensors
6. Sensor of rotation of the crankshaft
7. Sensor of rotation of a cam-shaft

Cars with 4-cylinder engines till 1997 are equipped with contactless system of ignition. In systems of ignition of cars with V6 3,4 engines of l and with 4-cylinder engines of 1998 system of ignition without distributor, with individual coils of ignition.

The ignition key, the electronic block, the battery, the coil, primary and secondary chains, the distributor and candles are a part of contactless system of ignition.

System the processor block (ESM) operates. The electronic block is mounted on the right side of a motor compartment under an air duct.

Sensors of rotation of a cam-shaft and the crankshaft, the coil of ignition and the electronic block are a part of system of ignition without distributor (further DIS system). At start of the engine the processor block forms identification signals for each cylinder which start the electronic module switching ignition coils. The processor block automatically regulates the ignition moment in response to the signals arriving from various sensors of the car (sensors of depression, speed of a stream, angle of rotation of the gate, a detonation, etc.). The electronic module distributes signals on the corresponding coils and sets delay time before switching of the coil according to current in primary chain.

In DIS system two spark ignition is used. The spark appears at the same time in two cylinders, the piston of one makes a compression step, and another – an emission step. And, in the first of these cylinders the power of the spark category much more exceeds category power in the second in which the spark is used only for reburning of the remains of not burned down gas mixture. On V6 engines the spark is created in pairs of cylinders 1-4, 2-5, 3-6, and in 4-cylinder – 1-4 and 2-3.
