7.3.2. Removal and installation of the driveshaft

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Lift also back part of the car.
Back shaft
2. Designate the mutual provision of flanges of the driveshaft and the leading gear wheel of a reducer.
3. Holding bolts, turn off four nuts of fastening of a flange of a back shaft.
4. Disconnect the driveshaft from a back flange. Get a shaft from transmission or a transfer case, or turn off bolts of fastening of the hinge to a flange of a transfer case.
5. On rear-wheel cars muffle an opening in a transmission.
6. Installation is carried out upside-down. Combine the tags put when dismantling and tighten nuts with the set moment.
Forward shaft
7. Remove the protection cover of a forward shaft.
8. Designate the mutual provision of flanges of a reducer, transfer case and cardan hinges.
9. Holding bolts, turn off nuts of fastening of a shaft and remove a shaft.
10. Installation is carried out upside-down. Combine the tags put when dismantling and tighten nuts with the set moment. At first fix a shaft on a forward reducer, having tightened nuts by hand, and then – on a transfer case. Tighten bolts and nuts with the set moment.
