3.1.8. Head of cylinders

Works are performed on the cold engine.


1. Disconnect the battery from weight.
2. Merge cooling liquid.
3. Merge oil from the engine and remove an oil filter.
4. Remove the case of the gate, a nozzle and the distributor of fuel.
5. Remove the soaking-up collector.
6. Remove a final collector.


The soaking-up collector and final can be removed collectors together with a head of cylinders for final dismantling at the stand.

7. Remove the generator and the distributor of ignition.
8. Remove a cam-shaft gear wheel with a chain, it is temporary operev it on an uspokoitel of a chain.
9. Remove cam-shafts and pushers.
10. Turn off bolts of fastening of the pump of the hydraulic booster and take the pump aside, without disconnecting hoses. Designate and disconnect remove other details (cooling system branch pipes, cables, hoses and conducting).
11. Turn off a fastening bolt (it is specified by an arrow), remove an oil indicator.
12. Turn off 2 bolts of a cover of a chain.
13. Release bolts of a head of cylinders, turning off each bolt on 1/4 turns at one time. Release bolts in the specified sequence (see rice. Order of weakening of bolts of a head of the block of cylinders). Examine bolts, at detection of deformations or damages of a carving replace bolts.
14. Remove a head of cylinders. If the head does not give in to removal, carefully hook a head, oberev a screw-driver on an arm of the pump of the hydraulic booster.
15. Remove other details that is necessary for survey and careful cleaning from a head. Procedures of repair of a head of cylinders are described in subsection 3.3.6).


1. Clear demountable surfaces of a head and the block of cylinders.
2. Accurately (having taken measures that dirt did not get to openings) scrape off a deposit and the remains of material of laying.
3. Check existence on the demountable planes of a head and the block of cylinders of zadir, chips, hollows and other damages. Insignificant damages can be eliminated with a file, at serious damages the head or the block are subject to repolishing.
4. Blow compressed air all channels and openings.
5. Establish into place all details removed when dismantling a head.
6. Put new laying on the block of cylinders, focusing on pins.
7. Carefully establish a head on the block of cylinders, without violating the provision of laying. Oil persistent surfaces of heads of bolts for the engine.
8. Wrap by hand bolts of a head of cylinders on their former places. Wrap short bolts on the party of inlet valves, and long – from final. Tighten bolts with the set moment in the specified sequence (see rice. Order of a tightening of bolts of a head of the block of cylinders). At the 2nd and 3rd stages of an inhaling bolts dovorachivatsya on 1/4 turns (90 °).
9. Further assembly is carried out upside-down. Fill the cooling system with liquid, fill in oil. Start the engine, be convinced of lack of a leak. Determine the moment of ignition and carry out test of road performance of the car.
