3.1.2. The types of repair which are carried out without removal of the engine from the car

GENERAL INFORMATION

Without removal of the engine from the car it is possible to perform the following works:

 – to replace laying and epiploons;
 – to remove hinged knots and units for replacement or repair;
 – to execute repair (or replacement) heads of cylinders, the oil pump, the mechanism of the drive of valves, details of the drive of hinged units;
 – to carry out adjusting works.

The Balansirny shaft, the krivoshipno-shatunny mechanism, pistons and rings change after dismantle of the engine (see subsection 3.3.5).
